I am a Registered Nurse that began my career more than 24 years ago at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). I have oncology experience in chemotherapy, surgery, symptom management, and nursing leadership.
In my current role as a Shared Care Nurse, it is my responsibility to provide individualized care coordination to patients admitted at external partner supported hospitals to feel connected to MSK and their primary oncology care team throughout their admission. My goal is to support and facilitate seamless care transitions between home, provider, acute care hospital/partner supported hospital, and community, using early communication to solve problems and break down barriers. This is done to keep the patient as the focus.
As a nursing leader, I am passionate about promoting MSK nurses and their significant contributions to the profession of oncology nursing. During my tenure at MSK, I created the Nursing External Awards Committee to recognize MSK nurses to professional organizations. I have also served as Chair of the Department of Nursing’s Recruitment, Retention, and Recognition Council, which involved planning annual Nurses’ Week events and the Robbin’s Nursing Excellence awards. Currently, I am a member of the MSK Nursing Communications Council and was the inaugural chair of the council and spearheaded publishing the MSK Nursing Newsletter.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my wife and two children.
