Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) recently executed a contract with HealthLinx, a consulting firm that helps hundreds of hospitals achieve Magnet® and Pathway to Excellence ® designation. Under the agreement, MSK’s EBP Consulting Service will provide training in MSK’s proprietary evidence-based practice (EBP) methodology directly to select HealthLinx clients who are looking to improve or enculturate EBP.
MSK EBP Consulting is dedicated to helping other hospitals and healthcare institutions worldwide achieve their EBP goals. It was launched in 2024 as an expansion of the MSK Nursing Department’s successful firsthand experience with EBP and its added value to patient care and hospital operations.
MSK EBP Consultants help organizations adopt and utilize MSK’s proprietary EBP methodologies, including the SEEK™ (Spirit of Inquiry, Expanding EBP Knowledge) program. This methodology for incorporating EBP empowers nursing and other healthcare professionals, promotes effective problem solving, improves patient and process outcomes, and aligns clinical decision-making with institutional values.
Wayne Quashie, Ed.D, CNS, AOCNS, ACNS-BC, EBP-C, who serves as Director of Nursing, Evidence Based Practice, at MSK, noted, “Developing a robust and sustainable EBP infrastructure is important for any institution, particularly those aiming to become high reliability organizations. This partnership represents a step toward achieving that goal.”
HealthLinx offers a suite of consulting services, including Executive Search, Transitional Leadership, Interim Leadership, and for Nursing Excellence, as one of the foremost consultants for facilities seeking American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet® or Pathway to Excellence® designation or re-designation.
“We are thrilled to partner with HealthLinx and work with them on their mission to transform healthcare institutions into places that consistently deliver elite patient care,” said Ashley Hole, DNP, FNP-BC-CPON®, EBP-C, EBP Program Manager, and Head of MSK EBP Consulting. “Working together with HealthLinx, MSK EBP Consulting will be able to reach hospitals across the country and guide them on how to enculturate and operationalize EBP.”
