Are you an older teen or a young adult with cancer? Feeling restless, bored, or alone during your treatment? Wondering if anyone else your age is possibly around?
You might not know it, but at any given time, Memorial Sloan Kettering is treating hundreds of teenagers and young adults with cancer, and we’ve created programs just for you.
MSK recognizes that the diagnosis and treatment experience of teen and young adult (TYA) patients is unique. To improve the TYA patient experience during active treatment, we offer services that decrease isolation, improve connectivity between patients and their peers, and address psychosocial needs.
Our program is here for you, regardless of what type of cancer you have, what type of treatment you’re receiving, or where you receive treatment at MSK as an inpatient or an outpatient in Manhattan or at one of our other locations.
The Lounge App: A Place to Connect
The Lounge is a safe and protected social network app where teen and young adult patients (ages 18-39) can:
- Find other patients with similar experiences or interests.
- Send messages one-on-one or in groups.
- Post and comment on the newsfeed.
- Join virtual and in-person events hosted by MSK and other partner organizations.
- Talk to their peers about how they handled various situations throughout treatment.
- Get fast, reliable answers from MSK experts.
To download the Lounge app, go to the App Store on your iPhone or the Google Play store on your Android phone, and search for “the Lounge at MSK.”
You will need a passcode to create an account on the app. To get a passcode, please complete this form.
