MSK Ranked the Best Cancer Center in the Northeast and First in the Nation for Urology Care
MSK has been recognized as the best cancer center in the Northeast, the number two hospital for cancer care in the nation, and the number one hospital nationally for urology care by U.S. News & World Report in its annual Best Hospitals listing. MSK has consistently ranked among the top two cancer hospitals in the U.S. and the top-ranked cancer center in the Northeast since these rankings were established more than 35 years ago.

Jessica Posada Named Inaugural Debbie’s Dream Early Career Investigator in Gastroesophageal Cancer Research

Jessica Posada, MD, postdoctoral associate and physician-scientist, was selected as the inaugural recipient of the Debbie’s Dream Early Career Investigator in Gastroesophageal Cancer Translational Research Award. This prestigious honor, awarded through a competitive national selection process led by Yelena Janjigian, MD, was established by Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Gastroesophageal Cancer Therapeutics Accelerator to support the next generation of translational researchers in the field. Dr. Posada joins the Janjigian Lab, where she will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to accelerate biomarker-driven clinical research and develop innovative therapeutic strategies for patients with gastroesophageal cancer.

Hedvig Hricak Received 2025 Distinguished Global Oncology Leader Award

Hedvig Hricak
Hedvig Hricak, MD, PhD, radiologist, received the 2025 Global Health Catalyst Distinguished Global Oncology Leader Award. This award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing global cancer care. Dr. Hricak was awarded for her long-term efforts to advance cancer imaging and care globally.

 


Daniel Gomez Honored as 2025 American Society of Radiation Oncology Fellow

Daniel Gomez
Daniel Gomez, MD, MBA, radiation oncologist, was selected as a 2025 American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Fellow. This prestigious honor recognizes ASTRO members’ achievements and contributions to the society, cancer research, education, patient care, and the specialty.

 


Almudena Chaves Pérez Awarded 2025 Dr. Eddie Méndez Scholar Award

Almudena Chaves Pére
Almudena Chaves Pérez, PhD, postdoctoral researcher, received the 2025 Dr. Eddie Méndez Scholar Award from the Fred Hutch Cancer Center. This award honors outstanding achievements of early-career scientists studying cancer, infectious disease, and basic sciences.

 

 

Brandon Joachim Received 2025 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses

Brandon Joachim
Brandon Joachim, BSN, RN, OCN, and clinical nurse II, was awarded the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses by the MSK Department of Nursing in collaboration with the DAISY Foundation. The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses recognizes nurses for their acts of kindness and the sensitivity they demonstrate daily, making a profound difference in a patient’s healthcare experience. Mr. Joachim was awarded for his clinical expertise, warmth, compassion, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
