Education

PhD, Mechanical engineering, University of North Carolina at Charlotte

I am an assistant attending physicist and assistant clinical member in the Department of Medical Physics and Director of Mechanical Engineering and Instrumentation in Biomedical Engineering. I am responsible for the design and fabrication of patient-specific and specialty medical devices produced within the Instrument Shop, Block Shop, and 3D Printing Laboratory in Biomedical Engineering. My team supports multiple clinical groups and research groups with a broad range of engineering and design services. I also investigate new and emerging technologies that have the potential to enhance clinical applications and operational workflow.

I have a background in experimental fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, instrumentation, mechanical design, scientific imaging, and optics. I have experience designing a broad range of mechanical systems and instrumentation for use in research and production environments. I received a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2012.
