Dr. Kushal Dey, Assistant Professor, Computational and Systems Biology Program, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC)

The Kushal Dey lab in the Computational and Systems Biology program at the Sloan Kettering Institute, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, has 1 postdoctoral fellow position available in applications of machine learning and generative AI models in genetics and computational biology.

AI/ML postdoc:

The postdoc will be working with Dr. Dey and other collaborators from MSKCC, Columbia University, Stanford University, and Harvard T.H.Chan School of Public Health on

(a) Develop methods and pipelines at the interface of spatial and spatio-tempotal transcriptomic datasets, with links to human disease genetics.

(b) Work on integrative models linking CRISPR perturbations, QTLs and disease GWAS in pan-disease and pan-tissue atlases.

(c) Build improved functional risk scores for human diseases informed by single cell multiomic datasets.

We welcome applications from candidates with an exceedingly strong quantitative background in computer science, genetics, biostatistics, computational biology, or other related domains. The applicant would be required to have prior background of working in computational biology with >=1 high quality first/co-first author publication/preprint. The candidate must be proficient in computing, with expertise in R and/or Python.

The candidate’s primary affiliation will be through the Sloan Kettering Institute, MSKCC located on the Upper East Side of New York City. It is part of the vibrant Tri-Institutional Research campus adjacent to Rockefeller University and Weill Cornell Medical College. The candidate will have weekly meetings with Dr. Dey and will be working closely with various consortia like ADSP, ENCODE, MorPhiC, and IGVF.
