Positions are available for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to study in the research group of Richard Hite at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to study ion channel structure, function and physiology. Our approach involves the use of high resolution structures obtained from cryo-electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography with single channel and bulk electrophysiology to determine the mechanisms of gating, selectivity and conductivity.

Our research program is supported by access to high quality facilities for structure determination including a newly installed FEI Titan Krios cryo-electron microscope at MSKCC, three FEI Titan Krios cryo-electron microscopes at the New York Structural Biology Center and synchrotron beam time at the Advanced Photon Source.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is located in the upper east side of Manhattan in New York City where it is a part of the vibrant Tri-Institutional community along with Rockefeller University and Weill Cornell. Subsidized housing is available for postdocs and child care is available for those with children.

Applicants who are interested in understanding the molecular basis of ion channel function and physiology are encouraged to apply.
