Get to Know Me

I am an anesthesiologist who is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain management. I have a strong interest and focus on treating pain that may arise from cancer and its treatments.

I was drawn to this field over the course of my medical training as I witnessed the difficulty faced by many patients as they struggled with pain. I learned that there are tools we can offer patients to control their pain, and I knew I wanted to be involved in this work.

The interventions I use provide individualized and effective pain management. These include ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and CT-guided imaging. I also utilize approaches such as radiofrequency, cryoablation, chemical ablation, and stimulation techniques. I am a strong believer in employing the latest evidence-based research in my practice because many of these newer technologies offer great promise for our patients.

In addition to my work treating cancer pain, I spend half of my clinical time in the operating rooms as an anesthesiologist. I also instruct and mentor junior doctors who are undergoing specialty training in the areas of anesthesia and pain management.

What I Do at MSK

I'm an anesthesiologist at MSK. An anesthesiologist (a-nes-THEE-zee-AH-loh-jist) is a doctor with special training in medicine to make you drowsy or sleep during your surgery or procedure. They monitor your vital signs while you're asleep.

I'm a pain management doctor, with special training in diagnosing and treating pain.

Disclosures

Members of the MSK Community often work with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology, and life sciences companies, and other organizations outside of MSK, to find safe and effective cancer treatments, to improve patient care, and to educate the health care community. These activities outside of MSK further our mission, provide productive collaborations, and promote the practical application of scientific discoveries.

MSK requires doctors, faculty members, and leaders to report (“disclose”) the relationships and financial interests they have with external entities. As a commitment to transparency with our community, we make that information available to the public. Not all disclosed interests and relationships present conflicts of interest. MSK reviews all disclosed interests and relationships to assess whether a conflict of interest exists and whether formal COI management is needed.
