Get to Know Me

I am a pediatric neurosurgeon on the MSK Kids team who has cared for children at Memorial Sloan Kettering since medical school. I specialize in caring for patients with brain and spinal cord tumors, including tumors related to epilepsy. Whenever possible, I use minimally invasive surgical approaches, such as endoscopic procedures performed through very small incisions.

One of the newest innovations I am excited about is laser ablation. This form of laser surgery is for deep-seated tumors in the brain and those that come back after treatment. We can now offer laser surgery to reduce the need for repeat operations in young children. We also use it to treat hard-to-reach tumors. This treatment is less invasive than others and spares children from side effects.

For children with tumor-associated epilepsy, our team includes all the doctors a child needs to receive coordinated care. Experts from neurosurgery, neurology, neuroradiology, and neuropsychology pool knowledge from different perspectives to care for our patients.

As children and their families face incredibly complex challenges, it is an honor for me to stand side by side with them. I recognize the profound level of trust that families place in my hands and strive to offer confidence and reassurance as we take on these challenges together. That, to me, is just as important as any medical treatment I could provide.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of my work is watching my patients grow up. It is such a privilege to help usher them to their next phase of life. I value this responsibility tremendously.
