Enrico Danzer, MD
Pediatric Surgeon
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

About Me
- Assistant Attending Surgeon
I am a pediatric surgeon who specializes in the care of patients ranging in age from newborns to adolescents and young adults. I am experienced in minimally invasive procedures, such as thoracoscopies, laparoscopies, and complex minimally invasive resections whenever possible. These procedures — which use small incisions, tiny cameras, and very thin instruments — can shorten your child’s hospital stay, reduce post-procedural pain, and support quicker recovery.
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Pediatric Surgery Service treats many young patients whose cancers are considered inoperable by other specialists. This means that patients’ disease can be especially aggressive or complex, making minimally invasive approaches less effective for the treatment of their disease. I am passionate about applying my expertise with minimally invasive procedures to identify the patients for whom these methods would be most appropriate. If it is not safe to take a minimally invasive approach or if a more intensive treatment is necessary, I work with MSK’s world-class team of medical and surgical specialists and pathologists to develop and deliver the intervention that will get your child the best results. When a young patient receives a cancer diagnosis, they and their family feel anxious and overwhelmed. I ask my patients and their families to put their confidence and trust in me, for as the father to a young boy, I can understand their concerns about their child’s diagnosis and surgical treatment. My goal is to provide my patients and their families with the compassionate and precise care that I would want my son to receive. My care philosophy revolves around treating each patient as if they were my own child, helping my patients and their families feel as comfortable as they possibly can throughout the treatment journey, and avoiding feelings of information overload by patiently and carefully explaining why we are making the care decisions that we are at each point in the process.
A pediatric surgeon is a doctor with special training in surgery on fetuses, infants, children, and adolescents.
