Get to Know Me

I’m an interventional radiologist who has special training in image-guided, minimally invasive procedures to treat cancer. I treat genitourinary cancers and gynecologic cancers. This includes:

I use different strategies to treat tumors, including:

  • Microwave ablation, a type of treatment that uses heat to destroy cancer cells.
  • Cryoablation, a procedure that uses extreme cold to kill cancer cells.
  • Irreversible electroporation, a surgical technique that uses short electrical pulses to destroy cancer cells.
  • Embolization, a minimally invasive procedure that blocks blood supply to the tumor.

Often, I combine these techniques to achieve the best results. I am also an expert in various image-guided approaches to support treatment, such as tissue sampling (biopsy) and drainage of infections. I am also an expert in placing venous access ports and catheters, which are devices that allow easy access to your veins.

At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), I perform prostatic artery embolization (PAE). This is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), an enlargement of the prostate gland in men. I also perform uterine fibroid embolization to treat heavy periods or relieve pelvic pain in women who have large uterine fibroids.

I see patients at Memorial Hospital and the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at MSK in New York City, and MSK Commack on Long Island.

As an interventional radiologist, my goal is to reduce surgical risk. I’m committed to delivering personal care that is focused on the patient. I take the time to understand each person’s needs, background, and concerns. This helps me provide clear, thoughtful guidance and set clear goals to help people feel informed and at ease.

I collaborate closely with a team of different experts including medical oncologists, surgeons, and radiation oncology specialists. We work together to offer the highest level of care so we can support the best possible results and the fastest recovery.

Disclosures

Members of the MSK Community often work with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology, and life sciences companies, and other organizations outside of MSK, to find safe and effective cancer treatments, to improve patient care, and to educate the health care community. These activities outside of MSK further our mission, provide productive collaborations, and promote the practical application of scientific discoveries.

MSK requires doctors, faculty members, and leaders to report (“disclose”) the relationships and financial interests they have with external entities. As a commitment to transparency with our community, we make that information available to the public. Not all disclosed interests and relationships present conflicts of interest. MSK reviews all disclosed interests and relationships to assess whether a conflict of interest exists and whether formal COI management is needed.
