Get to Know Me

I am a radiologist who specializes in interventional oncology, a minimally invasive approach of diagnosing and treating cancer. For most people, this option is less risky with shorter recovery times compared to traditional surgery.

As an interventional radiologist, I perform a broad range of procedures such as treating tumors, performing organ biopises, or placing stents by inserting small instruments and thin tubes (catheters) into the body via an artery or a vein.  I use images from fluoroscopy (an x-ray that allows us to see internal organs in motion), ultrasounds, CT scans, MRI and PET/CT, to help guide these interventions. The richness of the different interventions and their impact, as well as all the possibilities of development in this field, are the key drivers that made me choose this specialty.

I believe that reducing the risks of complications from surgeries is a critical part of our role as interventional radiologists, and my goal is to ensure that every patient is provided with patient-centered care. By understanding patients’ individual needs, their backgrounds, and their concerns, I help provide guidance, with full transparency on expectations to help put my patients at ease. I work with a team of medical, surgical, and radiation oncology experts to ensure that every intervention is delivered with first-class care, allowing for the fastest recovery.

My clinical research has been focused on finding solutions to improve image guidance for the procedures we perform, as well as helping to develop new tools and software to be more precise and efficient. I also work on new ablation modalities for tumor destruction, such as laser ablation for thyroid cancer.

As a commitment to transparency with our community, we make that information available to the public. Not all disclosed interests and relationships present conflicts of interest.
