Gabriela Bambrick-Santoyo, MD
Hospitalist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

Part of my initial training as an internist happened at MSK. From my very first day as an intern here, I was immediately drawn to the institution’s commitment to not only provide excellent and innovative medical care, but also to care for the individual needs of patients and their families. It is that passion to serve the whole person that attracted me to return to MSK.
In addition to my work as a hospitalist, I am trained in the field of medical simulation. Many people ask what simulation is and what is used for. In a nutshell, simulation is a technique that creates a situation or environment to allow clinicians to experience a representation of a real health care event for the purposes of practice, learning, evaluation, and testing, or to gain understanding of systems and human actions. I collaborate with people from other fields and together we use simulation as a safe way to find gaps in current practices and to teach and practice high-stakes, low-frequency events so that clinicians are optimally prepared to face them should they occur.
Lastly, I am an avid tennis player who dabbled in the professional circuit early in the 1990s. Tennis has been a part of my life since I was a child and it provides a way for me to stay in good health and to make friendships outside the field of medicine.
A hospitalist is a doctor with special training in caring for people in the hospital.
