Get to Know Me

I am a board-certified pathologist in anatomic and clinical pathology with expertise in the surgical pathology of tumors of the genitourinary system. Within our group, every year we examine thousands of biopsies and resections from tumors of the prostate, kidney, bladder, and testis. This enables us to establish the correct diagnosis and the extent of these tumors.

Of particular academic interest to me are tumors that develop in the urinary bladder. Currently I am researching the molecular and genetic aberrations of these tumors to identify markers that could help with prognosis and treatment decisions. This research is being conducted both in the Department of Pathology as well as through collaborations with other investigators at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

I also serve as one of the principal investigators from Memorial Sloan Kettering in the study of bladder cancer conducted through The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) — a national effort coordinated by the National Cancer Institute and the National Human Genome Research Institute to improve the ability to diagnose, treat, and prevent cancer through a systematic exploration of all genomic changes that occur in human cancers.
