Jake June-Koo Lee, MD, PhD
We post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

Get to Know Me
I am a medical oncologist who has special training in the treatment of lung cancer. I use medicines—such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy—to help fight the disease. In addition to my work in the clinic, I lead a research lab that studies how changes in the DNA of our cells can lead to cancer and drive how it grows or evolves over time.
I understand that the first visit with an oncologist can come with a lot of fear and feelings of uncertainty. Many of my patients worry about how treatment will affect their daily lives, their loved ones, and their future. My role is to help them understand the illness and navigate through all available options. We will work together to decide on the best path forward.
I first became interested in lung cancer as a medical student, when I saw how new treatments were beginning to make a real difference in people’s lives. Since then, I have been studying the DNA of cancer cells to understand how their genetic “life history” shapes their behavior and response to treatment.
Just as every person has a story, cancer cells do too—and learning that story helps us develop a more effective treatment. I am committed to bringing this deep understanding of cancer genetics into the care of every patient I see.
I'm a thoracic medical oncologist, which is a cancer doctor who specializes in thoracic (thor-A-sik) cancers. These are cancers that have to do with the chest, including lung, tracheal (windpipe), and thymic (thymus) cancers.

Disclosures
Members of the MSK Community often work with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology, and life sciences companies, and other organizations outside of MSK, to find safe and effective cancer treatments, to improve patient care, and to educate the health care community. These activities outside of MSK further our mission, provide productive collaborations, and promote the practical application of scientific discoveries.
MSK requires doctors, faculty members, and leaders to report (“disclose”) the relationships and financial interests they have with external entities. As a commitment to transparency with our community, we make that information available to the public. Not all disclosed interests and relationships present conflicts of interest. MSK reviews all disclosed interests and relationships to assess whether a conflict of interest exists and whether formal COI management is needed.
Jake June-Koo Lee discloses the following relationships and financial interests:
