Joshua Weintraub, MD
We post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

Get to Know Me
I’m an interventional radiologist who uses minimally invasive techniques to treat all types of cancer, including metastatic cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.
I treat both adults and children but have a special interest in pediatric cancers. I specialize in treating the following types of cancer:
- Bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma)
- Bone cancer
- Cancer of unknown primary origin
- Colon cancer
- Kidney cancer (renal cell cancer)
- Liver cancer
- Liver metastases (secondary liver cancer)
- Uterine sarcoma
I use imaging technology like X-rays, CT scans, and ultrasound to guide minimally invasive procedures that diagnose and treat cancer and cancer-related conditions. My procedures typically use just a small needle or catheter, which means less pain, shorter recovery times, and fewer complications compared to traditional open surgery.
I see patients at Memorial Hospital and the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in New York City.

I was drawn to interventional radiology because I get to help people every day. Using a minimally invasive approach to treat patients allows them to return quickly to the people and activities they love. It also helps them maintain a high quality of life. This is especially meaningful when working with pediatric patients, where minimizing treatment impact on their growth and development is so important. I bring these gentle, targeted approaches to children with cancer and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing my pediatric patients benefit from these advanced treatments.
I treat my patients like members of my own family. I focus on treating the whole person, not just the disease. When I meet with you, I take the time to listen to your concerns and explain complex procedures in simple terms. I prioritize open communication because I believe you should understand exactly what will happen before, during, and after any procedure.
Together, we will explore your treatment options and develop a personalized plan that aligns with your goals. I work closely with your entire care team to ensure that the procedures I perform fit seamlessly into your overall treatment plan. This team approach helps us provide the most effective care for your specific situation.
My research focuses on novel cancer therapies, combining immunotherapy with embolization techniques. Embolization is a procedure that blocks blood vessels that feed a tumor, while immunotherapy helps the body’s immune system recognize and attack cancer cells. This combination approach shows promise for improving cancer treatment outcomes while maintaining quality of life for patients.
When I’m not seeing patients at MSK, I enjoy spending time with my family. I’m married with two children who are now young adults pursuing their own passions to make the world a better place through healthcare and housing advocacy. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, hiking, and reading historical non-fiction. These activities help me maintain balance and bring fresh perspectives to my work with patients.
I’m honored to be part of your care team at MSK, and I’m committed to providing you with the highest quality interventional radiology services.
I'm an interventional (IN-ter-VEN-shun-al) radiologist. This is a doctor with special training in using image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat disease.
