Get to Know Me

I am an anesthesiologist with subspecialty training in palliative medicine. At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I care for patients as a member of both the Supportive Care and Anesthesiology Services.

As part of the Supportive Care Service, I work with an interdisciplinary team to manage cancer-related pain and symptoms; provide psychosocial and spiritual support for patients, families, and caregivers; and align the medical care that I provide with each patient’s values, goals, and preferences. As part of the Anesthesiology Service, I help to provide anesthesia for surgeries or procedures in the operating rooms and strive to ensure that patients understand and are comfortable with the anesthesia process.

I frequently teach fellows and other trainees, and I am passionate about exploring connections between the fields of anesthesiology and palliative medicine through education and collaborative work.

What I Do at MSK

I'm an anesthesiologist at MSK. An anesthesiologist (a-nes-THEE-zee-AH-loh-jist) is a doctor with special training in medicine to make you drowsy or sleep during your surgery or procedure. They monitor your vital signs while you're asleep.

I'm a supportive care doctor, with special training in care that supports people with cancer. I help improve quality of life and manage the symptoms and side effects of cancer and its treatment.

Disclosures

Members of the MSK Community often work with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology, and life sciences companies, and other organizations outside of MSK, to find safe and effective cancer treatments, to improve patient care, and to educate the health care community. These activities outside of MSK further our mission, provide productive collaborations, and promote the practical application of scientific discoveries.

MSK requires doctors, faculty members, and leaders to report (“disclose”) the relationships and financial interests they have with external entities. As a commitment to transparency with our community, we make that information available to the public. Not all disclosed interests and relationships present conflicts of interest. MSK reviews all disclosed interests and relationships to assess whether a conflict of interest exists and whether formal COI management is needed.
