We post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

Get to Know Me
I am a pediatric gastroenterologist, a doctor who specializes in the care of children with digestive disorders. I joined the MSK Kids team in 2019 to care for and support patients with primary gastrointestinal (GI) diseases and GI complications related to cancer and its treatment. I collaborate very closely with medical and surgical oncologists to best address the GI issues that can occur during and after cancer treatment. I also see patients who have an increased risk of GI cancer due to inherited genetic abnormalities (such as polyposis syndromes).
I chose this subspecialty because of my own interest in diseases of the GI tract and in the medications and procedures we use to address them. I am driven to better understand how GI issues affect children with cancer and how to improve the diagnosis and treatment. Most of what we know in this unique group of patients is based on studies and experience in adults. Therefore, the topic of pediatric “onco-gastroenterology” (the GI care of patients with pediatric cancers) is an essential area for exploration and research.
As a pediatric gastroenterologist, I perform endoscopy (the examination of the digestive tract through a special tube) to evaluate and treat GI tract disorders. I completed a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. Afterward, I stayed for an additional year to complete a Pediatric Advanced Endoscopy fellowship and learned advanced endoscopic techniques, such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and single balloon enteroscopy. I also earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Investigation from Baylor College of Medicine. My research interests include hereditary polyposis syndromes, pancreatic and biliary diseases, and outcomes of endoscopy in children.
At MSK Kids, I participate in the Pediatric Cancer Predisposition Screening Program and perform surveillance endoscopy to monitor children with hereditary polyposis syndromes — inherited diseases that involve the development of tissue growths (called polyps) in the GI tract that may develop into cancer. I am also an active member of the Pediatric Multidisciplinary Feeding Program, which focuses on the treatment of children who experience feeding difficulties during and even after cancer therapy. Furthermore, I participate in the Multidisciplinary Graft-Versus-Host Disease (GVHD) Clinic for patients who develop GVHD, a potential complication of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (receiving a stem cell transplant from a donor).
Pediatric cancer care is complex and can be overwhelming for patients and their families. I strive to continuously recognize these challenges with compassion and to provide comprehensive services. Through diligence and close communication with my cancer care colleagues, I aim to provide high-quality care that aligns with each patient’s needs and values.
I'm a pediatric gastroenterologist (GAS-troh-EN-teh-RAH-loh-jist) at MSK. A pediatric gastroenterologist is a doctor who treats children and adolescents and has special training in the gastrointestinal (GI) system. This includes the esophagus, intestines, stomach, bile ducts, gallbladder, liver, and pancreas.

Disclosures
Members of the MSK Community often work with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology, and life sciences companies, and other organizations outside of MSK, to find safe and effective cancer treatments, to improve patient care, and to educate the health care community. These activities outside of MSK further our mission, provide productive collaborations, and promote the practical application of scientific discoveries.
MSK requires doctors, faculty members, and leaders to report (“disclose”) the relationships and financial interests they have with external entities. As a commitment to transparency with our community, we make that information available to the public. Not all disclosed interests and relationships present conflicts of interest. MSK reviews all disclosed interests and relationships to assess whether a conflict of interest exists and whether formal COI management is needed.
Karen Queliza discloses the following relationships and financial interests:
