I am a hepatopancreatobiliary surgeon, with special training in the care of people with hepatobiliary cancers. This includes:
My goal is to provide care that is not only effective, but also personal, compassionate, and respectful of each person’s values and preferences. At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I work as part of a team of different experts to design the best treatment plan for every patient.
A new cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming, and our team is dedicated to helping patients understand their treatment options and navigate the process with confidence. In the operating room, I perform open and minimally invasive procedures, including robotic and laparoscopic surgery.
In addition to caring for patients, I am actively involved in clinical research to improve results after surgery. I have a particular interest in clinical trials and understanding how locoregional therapies can improve survival for patients with hepatobiliary cancers. Locoregional therapies are a type of cancer treatment that target cancer cells in a precise area without affecting distant organs.
A California native, I earned my undergraduate degree at Stanford University and my medical degree at Northwestern University in Chicago. I completed my general surgery residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston prior to moving to New York City for a fellowship. Outside of the hospital, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family.
I'm a hepatopancreatobiliary (heh-PA-toh-PAN-kree-A-to-BIH-lee-AYR-ee) surgeon at MSK. This is a doctor with special training in surgery on the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts. They’re also called an HPB surgeon.
