Get to Know Me

I am a gastrointestinal medical oncologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers. This includes:

I see patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering Nassau on Long Island. At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), I work with a highly specialized team which includes surgeons and radiation oncologists.

I offer the latest treatments to my patients, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies. I also specialize in liver-directed chemotherapy, known as hepatic artery infusion (HAI), which is a targeted treatment for liver cancer that delivers high doses of chemotherapy directly to the tumor through a catheter inserted into the hepatic artery.

At MSK, I have access to both standard therapies, as well as clinical trials and novel therapies that are often not available elsewhere. I am proud to offer these treatments to patients on Long Island, so they can access the world-class care of MSK, close to home.

My father is an oncologist and his dedicated care for patients inspired me to follow in his footsteps. When patients come to me for treatment, I review all possible treatment options and come up with a personalized plan based on their goals and needs. I focus on providing comprehensive care, including considering aspects such as nutrition, social work, and integrative medicine, to help them achieve the best quality of life and outcome during the cancer journey.

I am currently enrolling patients in a clinical trial that focuses on immunotherapy for locally advanced rectal cancer as well as a phase 2 trial that focuses on personalized mRNA vaccines to treat pancreatic cancer. These vaccines are based on gene sequencing of pancreatic tumors. These mRNA vaccines could stimulate the immune system to recognize and attack pancreatic cancer cells.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing tennis. I live on Long Island with my wife and three children. I am proud to practice and serve the local community where I live.

What I Do at MSK

Disclosures

Members of the MSK Community often work with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology, and life sciences companies, and other organizations outside of MSK, to find safe and effective cancer treatments, to improve patient care, and to educate the health care community. These activities outside of MSK further our mission, provide productive collaborations, and promote the practical application of scientific discoveries.

MSK requires doctors, faculty members, and leaders to report (“disclose”) the relationships and financial interests they have with external entities. As a commitment to transparency with our community, we make that information available to the public. Not all disclosed interests and relationships present conflicts of interest. MSK reviews all disclosed interests and relationships to assess whether a conflict of interest exists and whether formal COI management is needed.
