Get to Know Me
I am a board-certified internist and medical oncologist with an expertise in treating people with cancers of the gastrointestinal system.
After completing my fellowship training at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center (part of the Mount Sinai Health System in New York) and practicing as a clinical oncologist at UMDNJ University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, I joined MSK Basking Ridge in 2012.
During the past 16 years of my medical oncology training and practice, I’ve gained exposure to a diversity of patient populations and cultures. My wide-ranging experiences in patient care and treatment have molded me into a well-rounded physician.
At MSK’s regional care facility in Basking Ridge, we offer state-of-the-art, comprehensive, and compassionate cancer care for patients at a location close to their homes. By working closely with my colleagues in Manhattan, including surgeons and radiation oncologists, I ensure that the care we provide at MSK Basking Ridge is consistent with MSK’s high standards. To be able to do this effectively, I participate actively in weekly disease-specific multidisciplinary and research meetings. Working with cancer patients closely and making their complex journey as effortless as possible is challenging, however, at the same time, it is fulfilling for me.
The main focus of my practice is patient care, but I have a strong academic interest in gastrointestinal malignancies. I am a co-investigator in many clinical trials available at MSK Basking Ridge and a co-author of several pivotal papers. I can also facilitate patients’ entry into trials that are available only at MSK’s location in Manhattan. My goal is to provide the same MSK excellence in care for all my patients. Working towards this same goal, my colleagues and I made hepatic arterial infusion pump chemotherapy accessible at regional network sites.
A cancer diagnosis and its treatment can create daily challenges for patients. To help them cope, I coordinate comprehensive care with other healthcare providers, nutritionists, and social workers.
Outside of my work at MSK, I enjoy playing with my kids, reading, running, and gardening.
I'm a gastrointestinal (GAS-troh-in-TES-tih-nul) medical oncologist, which is a cancer doctor who specializes in gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. This includes anal, colorectal, esophageal, gastric (stomach), liver, and pancreatic cancers. We also treat GI stromal tumors and neuroendocrine tumors.
