Get to Know Me

I am a behavioral psychologist with a special interest in the cognitive effects of cancer treatments. My clinical interests have focused on cognitive-behavioral interventions designed to improve symptom management (e.g., cognitive problems, pain, sleep disorders) and to reduce stress associated with cancer and cancer treatments. In addition, I am the psychological liaison to the Neurology Service and to the Brain Tumor Center.

I currently lead the Neurocognitive Research Laboratory, which I was recruited to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to develop. The lab examines cognitive changes associated with cancer (e.g., brain tumors) and cancer treatments (e.g., chemotherapy and radiation therapy). My research has focused on investigating cognitive changes associated with adjuvant chemotherapy for the treatment of breast cancer. My other research interests include cancer pain management and palliative care.

I am a member of many scientific and medical societies. Currently, I am a member of the Quality of Life and the Symptom Control Subcommittees of the Cancer and Leukemia Group B Committees.

Disclosures

Members of the MSK Community often work with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology, and life sciences companies, and other organizations outside of MSK, to find safe and effective cancer treatments, to improve patient care, and to educate the health care community. These activities outside of MSK further our mission, provide productive collaborations, and promote the practical application of scientific discoveries.

MSK requires doctors, faculty members, and leaders to report (“disclose”) the relationships and financial interests they have with external entities. As a commitment to transparency with our community, we make that information available to the public. Not all disclosed interests and relationships present conflicts of interest. MSK reviews all disclosed interests and relationships to assess whether a conflict of interest exists and whether formal COI management is needed.
