Zsofia K. Stadler, MD
Gastrointestinal Medical Oncologist & Clinical Geneticist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

About Me
- Clinical Director, Clinical Genetics Service
I am a board-certified medical oncologist who specializes in treating patients with gastrointestinal cancers. I have a special interest in caring for patients with an inherited risk for colorectal cancer.
I work very closely with a team of surgeons, oncologists, gastroenterologists, and radiation therapists to provide the best treatment and care for each patient.
In addition, I have a separate genetics clinic where I provide clinical counseling and genetic testing for people who may have an inherited predisposition to gastrointestinal or other cancers. Based on genetic test results and family history, I help men and women with cancer incorporate genetic information into their treatment plan and the surveillance of cancer after treatment.

My research focuses on the discovery of novel cancer-susceptibility genes and the development of new approaches to cancer screening and prevention in high-risk families. I have received an American Society of Clinical Oncology Career Development Award, and more recently was honored to be selected for a Clinical Investigator Award by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation for my research on the genetic causes of cancer in patients with early-onset disease. Through funding secured via the National Institutes of Health, I am also studying genetic susceptibility in patients who have more then one malignancy. I am an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and recently served as chair of its education committee on cancer genetics.
A gastrointestinal (GAS-troh-in-TES-tih-nul) medical oncologist is a cancer doctor who specializes in gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. This includes anal, colorectal, esophageal, gastric (stomach), liver, and pancreatic cancers, as well as GI stromal tumors and neuroendocrine tumors.
A clinical geneticist is a scientist with special training in diagnosing and treating genetic conditions. They can help explain your risk of getting a genetic condition that is passed on from parents to children.
